Fruits & Votes is the Web-log of Matthew S. Shugart ("MSS"), Professor of Political Science, University of California, Davis.
Perspectives on electoral systems, constitutional design, and policy around the world, based primarily on my research interests. Also experiences with growing many varieties of fruit (always organic) and other personal interests. Please see the Mission Statement for more. (There is also an explanation of the banner.) One of the little side benefits of having the MLB Extra Innings package is that, during campaign season, I get to see a lot of out-of-state ads. Today I saw Al Franken touting his seven (yes,7) USO tours as evidence that he cares about the troops, and thus by obvious extension, is qualified to be a US Senator.
