Perspectives on electoral systems, constitutional design, and policy around the world, based primarily on my research interests. The election of a constituent assembly for Tunisia, originally scheduled for 24 July, has been rescheduled for 16 October. A delay in a first post-authoritarian election is not always a bad idea, but in this case, “larger opposition parties… fear the interim government may renege on its promise to lead Tunisia toward democracy,” according to Reuters.
